Whatever Happened To The Breakfast Club

One of the best John Hughes films of the 1980's. Five high school kids from different backgrounds forced to serve an all day detention on a Saturday in the school library. What became of the actors who appeared in this 1985 movie.

Emilio Estevez (Andrew Clark / The Jock):  The son of actor Martin Sheen and brother of actor Charlie Sheen already had made a name for himself in such movies as The Outsiders (1983) and Repo Man (1984). Emilio would go on to bigger success with Stakeout (1987), Young Guns (1988), The Mighty Ducks (1992) and their sequels. He began directing movies, starting with Wisdom (1987), and gradually moved away from acting. His most recent directorial efforts have been Bobby (2006) and The Way (2010).

Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish / The Popular Girl): Molly had a hit the year before in John Hughes' Sixteen Candles (also with Anthony Michael Hall) and would go on to be in another Hughes hit Pretty In Pink (1986). She then had a string of unsuccessful films and her popularity went into decline. She has worked steadily since the 80's and most recently appeared in the TV series The Secret Life Of The American Teenager (2008 - ).

Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson / The Nerd): Another John Hughes Veteran, Anthony had already appeared in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) and Sixteen Candles (1984) and would go on to act in Weird Science (also 1985). After starring in one season of  TV's Saturday Night Live (1985-1986) and the movie Edward Scissorhands (1990) Anthony's star went into decline. He's kept busy starring in the TV series The Dead Zone (2002 - 2007) and had a bit part in the blockbuster The Dark Knight (2008).

Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds / The Weirdo): She had acted in such movies as Bad Boys (1983), War Games (1983) and Oxford Blues (1984) and later appeared in Short Circuit (1986) and Maid To Order (1987). She even co-starred with Molly Ringwald in the 1990 film Betsy's Wedding. Since the 80's she has acted mainly in TV movies.

Judd Nelson (John Bender / The Bad Boy): After The Breakfast Club Judd acted in the 1985 movie St. Elmo's Fire (also with Emilio Estevez and Ally Sheedy). But these two films represented his peak as a star. He would go on to act mostly in TV, including a recent appearance on the TV show Two And A Half Men.
